Jackson Pearson Exhibit
A Visual Arts event
February 20th, 2020
The Village Gallery features the exhibition of fine arts photographs by beloved area artist, Jackson Pearson. The exhibit, Remembering a Man and his Eye for Beauty is on display through February 20, 2020.
Borrowing his Dad’s Instamatic with its square flash bulbs, Pearson’s love of photography began at an early age. As an adult his passion deepened, and he developed a keen eye for seeing beauty in things others would miss. This led to a fulfilling hobby and eventually a career prior to his death in early 2019.
The exhibit focuses on Pearson’s favorite subjects, nature-oriented birds, the Indiana Dunes, Mackinac Island, flowers, woodlands in all seasons, and city scapes. His photography has been featured at the Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum, and has appeared in Birds and Blooms magazine, Bicycle Times magazine, Into the Nest (a nesting bird reference book by Laura Erickson and Marie Read) and various regional calendars, postcards, and displays.
“His photography touched so many people, more than he ever knew”, shares Elizabeth Pearson. “The mission with this gallery showing and the continued availability of Jack’s works, is to carry his legacy onward. This legacy continues to pay forward the goodness of those who enjoy his works, as all proceeds will be donated to three worthy organizations: Melanoma Research Foundation, JourneyCare Hospice and Northern Illinois Pug Rescue.”
